[Perhaps it's because he doesn't have a door to his room, that seeing Taas going around locking the doors has the mage shifting just a bit. It isn't his nerves that make him do so, but something about watching and hearing it happen makes it seem so much more final. Eager maybe? His thoughts aren't quite there to file through what he's feeling at the moment. Especially when Taas returns to where he is standing.
He is certainly aware of himself being smaller compared to the qunari, but he's never felt quite this small before. Except maybe when he first met Taas, who had assumed Sam was there for a fight, and during Satinalia when he had been 'introduced' to Iskandar. Perhaps it is the way Taas came up to him, or how he was looking at him, not just from above, but rather the intensity. It has Sam wetting his lips, suddenly aware of them being slightly chapped from the cold air and the heat from the forges.
The hand on his face has him making a low sound in the back of his throat, noting the amount of warmth Taas gave off just with his hands. It is enough encouragement for him to lean forward and up a bit to meet Taas for a kiss.]
